Cato Industrial Development is a local; family owned and operated, Corporation. We lease industrial buildings for warehouse and light manufacturing operations. We also rent retail shopping space and sell commercial real estate.
Jack Cato has owned and operated various businesses in Lebanon since 1956. If and when problems arise, he will be here and available to help. Decisions don’t require Board Meetings and he is willing to negotiate.
Jack Cato is a Korean War Veteran who served 13 months in Korea with the 151st Combat Engineer Battalion. He owned and operated Cato TV & Appliance for 43 years where he sold and serviced televisions, radios, stereos, VCRs, major appliances, lawn mowers, tillers, and furniture. He was the first in Tennessee to sell Weed Eaters. He built Timberline Campground (an overnight family campground) which he and our family operated for 11 years. He was one of the founders of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store where he served as a Board of Directors member for 15 years.
Jack is a founder of the City of Lebanon Museum and History Center. He leads tours through the Museum and also works with the Lebanon Chamber of Commerce Tourism Department serving as a step-on guide for local tours. He has received the Jefferson Davis Award from the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Exchange Club Book of Golden Deeds, the Community Spirit Award from the City of Lebanon, Lebanon Chamber of Commerce Contribution to Development of Tourism and the Retailer of the Year Award, and a Certificate of Recognition from the Modern Woodmen of America for dedicated community service.
